The Last Supper
Today we start a journey together in worship through the last day of Jesus' life, the "24 Hours that Changed the World".
The journey begins with a meal. It was a meal that the disciples looked forward to every year. But this year at Jesus's table, the traditional Passover meal would be different. The disciples knew of the growing tension surrounding Jesus, but they weren't expecting to hear what Jesus said. By the end of the evening:
- One of them will betray Jesus.
- Peter would deny him.
- The rest would abandon him.
Jesus knew that the disciples would fail him, yet Jesus still dinned with them.
Jesus still wants to dine with us. He welcomes us to the table know every fear, flaw, and failure. Christ is calling. How will your answer.
