Simon and Jesus
Simon, a Cyrene, was in Jerusalem for Passover when he for forced to carry the cross for Jesus. He would no longer be welcome at the festivities since he was now unclean. However, there is evidence in the Bible that Simon and his son's became important influence in the early church.
Sometimes life doesn't go the way we've planned. Unwanted "crosses" been placed on our shoulders. But God tells us that in time of trouble, we are blessed. It is how you respond that determines the outcome of these burdens. Be a Simon in Jesus' life. Don't do it because you are forced, but because you are invited.
